The Door Of No Return is a very sad and very emotional monument in Benin. The arch is set up on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean where back in the day European traders took the African people and loaded them on to ships to become slaves. The Arch in the shape of a door is to represent the African people leaving there homeland forcefully knowing that they will never be back home. There were numerous different designers and artists all from the country of Benin involved in this monument which I think is very special because it memorializes the suffering that their ancestors had to go through during the Atlantic Save Trade.
