Bangladesh: National Martyrs' Memorial

National Martyrs’ Memorial is a national monument dedicated to the lives lost during the Bangladesh War Of Independence in 1971.  You can find this memorial in Savar which is roughly 35 km north-west of Bangladesh’s capital city Dhaka. It was designed by Syed Mainul Hossain. Syed is one of Bangladesh’s best designers and has worked on countless other amazing landmarks in Bangladesh. The memorial is 150ft high or 45.72 meters tall. With 7 pairs of triangular prisms going in shortest to tallest order. This is to represent the 7 major events in Bangladesh's history that eventually led to their independence.
